when do you get your bird

Our season is late season to begin with. We don't get to start hunting them until the end of April/ begining of May and to top it off, I shot my bird the last week of the season at the end of May.

Well.......i try 2get him in the beginning. But some of the better hunting may be near the end of a season as most hunters have quit by then and gobblers find themselves lonely as hens are nesting.

Whenever. If I can scout out 2-3 times and track down some of the big boys, it could be the first of the season, weather permitting and all that jazz. The last couple of years, I have taken at the end of the season, but that doesn't mean that is the norm around here for me.

We only get two tags here in arkansas so i try to space them out to make most of the season. I dont like to fill both my tags and then the rest of the season be wasted. I wait and check the birds out and when the time is right i'll bag my birds. I'll take one at the beggining of the season and during mid season i'll scout and look for a bigger one and take during mid to end season.
