RE: Mossberg 500 vs. Remington 870

Hawglips..I understand,and agree 100%

WM..Should have readmy entire thread...not just where he quoted me.I shoot them at closer ranges also. And 7 birds in the 50-60yd range?Well, that tells me Ican shoot them that far.Not everyone's skills or set-ups are capable of doing this.I agree!;)50yds is pushing it with most set-ups I agree!Wounding an animal is a sickening feeling..again I agree!I would not take a shot that I thought was over 60yds.ANd have let huge birds go that I thought were just a hair over 60,only to find out they were in range.I have let a slowly walking birdgo @35yds just b/c I wanted to make 100% sure when I shot I could recover.(I had a back problem at the time, and didn't want to take a chance of having to run down a wounded bird.)

I have mis-judged distances before, and taken them cleanly @ 72yds.They just look so big puffed up!So,I know my gun can easily smoke them @ 60yds or less.As I stated before.I don't shoot when they get less than 60,but will if I think I need to.It's all about knowing your gun/set-up,and capabilities.

Hey,Let's not turn this into a you should use a bow,or should call them close enough to take them out with 2 3/4" low brass #8's,and a skeet chokethread....
