Built a guzzler this weekend
#1
I thought I show y'all a picture of the guzzler we built this wkend. It's the first guzzler in the Makua Keeau hunting area. Hopefully, this project will spur the state on to help us trap some turkeys for release in this area. Later this year, we're going to prep sites for twomore guzzlers.
We released some turks below this place last year. Hopefully withanother water sourcefarther back, the turkeys will be more likely to hang out farther backaway from the road and less scrupulous folks.

Great stuff Joe!!!I know how effective/beneficial these guzzlers can be!Here in N.eastern Calif, which is primarily high desert country we have lots of barrel guzzlers throughout the area primarily for quail and chukar, butmost all the bird species including sage hens use them! They've put barb wire fences around most of em to keep mammals such as wildhorses, antelope, deer, and livestock out of them and its been a great success!!Hope it works out!!
