Default hevishot

i got an undertaker HS tube and patterned it with #6 remington HV #6 HS......35yds i put 180+ hits on a turkey target....but was wondering if the hevishot has the punch out there at 45+yds...i know my pattern will is dense enough to roll birds at 50 or so.....but will the pellets have the energy???...just got to thinking...i dont take long shots....but this spring after hunting a long bearded boss tom that hung upat 40-50yds every morning...i would liked to..........

I killed a turkey at 55 yards with hevishot one year. It is great stuff when it comes to that. At 40 to 45 yards, HS should easily have enough energy to bring down a turkey. HS is the densest loads on the market and will have the most knockdown power, even more than lead. I dont want to ever shoot past 45 to maybe 50 yards but guessed wrong on the 55 yard shot I made, and I feel HS has the power to go past that. I just dont shoot that far to be safe. Good luck!!

My son misjudged disance and killed a turkey at 55 yds with a 20 gauge Nova and #5 Hevishot . I wouldn't recommend doing that intentionally, but the stuff has very good down range power.

sounds like i should be in good shape then....the pattern is unbelievable compared to whati got with lead....but the choke made the diffrence....that undertaker HS tube isa good tube for a cheap price in my gun atleast.....maybe ill make it out in the fall turkey season and see how it performs....i dont WANT to take long shots..but im more comfortable knowing that if i misjudge a few yards or a biggun hangs up at 40yds or so(like last spring) i can take and make the shot.....

Hevi-Shot is able to deliver outstanding pellet patterns due to its extreme hardness and high density.

30 Yards
40 Yards
50 Yards
60 Yards
70 yards

I personally witnessed a friend of mine with a Remington 870 taking a Turkey at 61 yards (range finder). The bird layed over, done. He was shooting heavy shot.
