That place is so big, do ya'll have a season thats uniform for the whole state? Or does it start at different times for different regions? I am hoping to get down there next year and kill me a Rio. I'm thinking about the Panhandle area. Whens season start up there normally? Also what are the bag limits down there?
Thanks fellas and May God Bless Texas-

I live in East Texas and hunt the easterns. However, if you go to south Texas go opening week or mid April. If you go to the Panhandle area go mid to late April, generally speaking. I've hunted south Texas and the hill country and talked with lots of folks that go south and some to the panhandle and this is what I've learned.
The seasons do vary, but only by a week or so. Late March opener down south, usually, and an early May closing up in the panhandle.-
