Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Question?

last week i shot a nice tom. while i was walking up to him he was flooping around pretty good. and most of his fan tail feathers came out and were lost. should i have shot him again or broke his neck or something. i lost a nice trophy fan tail.

Default RE: Question?

I get to them ASAP and put one foot on their neck. I then grab their legs with a hand and pull upwards. This literally sucks out their last breath, and if you pull hard enough will snap their neck. I prefer this method, because 1) I have control of the entire bird, including those sharp spurs, and 2) it results in a very quick & painless death.
