Default How Much Growth for Year 3? Pics

We got this non-typical on cam when he was 1.5 and 2.5 years old. I've always heard that the jump between 2.5 and 3.5 is a big one. We had a mild winter, too.

What do you think we might have this year?

I don't know. In the 2011 pics he looks older than 3.5 because of his body size and sway back. Are you sure he is not older?

Based on the first pics we got of him, I thought he was 1.5 then. Maybe he was 2.5 then? Then he'd be growing his 4th set of antlers this year. That could be a nice jump from 3.5 to 4.5 yo.

I'm hoping he's one of those non-typicals from the magazines this year. Any chance????

I would say he will be a 4.5 this year for sure. He should be nice but
I dont know about one from a magazine. Most of those magazine pics
come from deer farms I would imagine

That's true. That makes it more fun.

We've always had typicals on our property. In the last 2 years, we've seen 3 non-typicals. Variety is the spice of life

To tell you the trueth I am puzzeled by the fact I do not see any velvet on his rack.. So I am believing he has held his rack over from last year.. This also makes me think he is older than you are guessing as well.. So I would not expect to see any more growth on it.. He surely is a nice buck though either way with that extra antler showing on him.. Good Luck getting him..

That picture was from last year. Early December. He'll have a new rack this year and I haven't seen him yet. We never see many bucks on that property until Otcober. They seem to hang deep in the bush in the summer. Around October, they start showing themselves around fields and people's backyard feeders.
