Default Good long distance trail cam?

Just wondering what camera you would recommend for larger food plots.Looking for a camera that triggers a picture at longer distances.

If your going to use it for a foodplot, have you considered using a camera with the plot watcher function?

No i havent given plot watcher much consideration im not real familar with them. These plots are for taking inventory on bucks and are mostly used by deer at night.Just feed up with the short distances my cuddieback works .Seems to only work if the deer walks real close to the camera 5-8 feet or so on a good day. .Had tracks all around the camera on the plots and only 4 pics in 2 weeks should have been more.Hung the camera on well used crossing (SHORT DISTANCE) and had over 30 pics in 2days.Looking for a camera that catches images out greater distances.

I have had this happen to me and all I had to do was adjust the angle some of the mount of the camera. If it is only triggering at 4-5 feet I would think in is pointed to much down. Try to angle it up some. Just a thought.
The biggest issue with the plot watcher is no night time pictures. And I have to replace batteries every 4 days, and if the deer is moving across the food plot the pictures are blurry.
I do not think the perfect camera is developed yet.

I hear ya on the detection range of the Cudde. I had one for about six months and got rid of it for that very reason. Simply said, they have the worst detection range of any camera out there. Here is a link that I often use when checking the detection range on the various cameras. You will notice that the Cudde is not listed in this graph and I don't know why because it use to be. I can tell you it was at the bottom of the list and it's detection area was very small. Check it out and see if it's a help to you.
