Here is something that I often refer to when considering a trailcam purchase. I think it will answer your question. http://www.trailcampro.com/2010detectionzonetest.aspx

I have three Bushnell 119466 Low Glow's and love them. My deer where I hunt don't get along well with the red blob cams. They will run for the next county.

What is your price range? For around $200 I purchased a little acorn 5210a that I love, this cam does everthing real well. If you want a white flash cam instead of a ir cam you should look at the stealth cam rogue i890 white flash. It can be found for around $100 and it has a wide range but slow trigger speed. I use it on a trail and it works great. Best day and night pics for the cams I have. Another cheaper ir cam that I have is a spypoint g4 from Gander Mountain. It gets great reviews and I really like mine. Does everthing good and a great price. Hope this helps Scoot

If I was going to pick a newer trail camera it would be a choice of about 3 or 4 different ones! Each one has different features that are very desirable and each one out weighs the other depending on what features You would feel best serve You.

Moultrie M-100 has some great features...it can be used as a Plot Watcher or trail camera or both and it has 6.0 megapixels for some good pictures, and it has a wide field of view.

Cuddeback Capture "Flash" trail camera has a very fast trigger speed,it catches pictures of Deer and other animals that most trail camera's would more than likely miss and picture quality is awesome for a little 3.0 megapixel camera?

Bushnell is a great little camera with 8.0 megapixels and long battery life it has some really nice desirable featuers too!

RecoynX is the Caddilac of most trail camera's out there...the price tag will knock You over but the performance/quality surpasses all other trail camera's out there...from what I've read.

In the Moultrie line, I am running 3 of the D55-IR and 2 of the M100. These are excellent cameras except for the following: 1)when set to video, the camera takes a picture first, then the video. Sometimes, the animal gets missed in the video. 2)the field of view in the video is narrower than the field of view in the picture. Moultrie said this is how it down loads. 3)the night video is limited to 10 seconds. I emailed Moultrie before the M100 were available, and they had no intention of lengthening the night video because it was harder on batteries.
Moultrie offers one year warranty and I've had good customer service from them in regard to any emails I have sent.
I am also running 7 of the 2009 model Bushnell Trophy Trail cameras. These have given excellent service. Mine have the viewer which is too small, but beeing my first cameras gave excellent service, I stayed to that series. Good customer service and Bushnell offers a two year warranty.
I have 2 SpyPoint IRB. These will take picture or video. I returned my first two due to video flicker. SpyPoint checked them out and replaced them with two new ones of the same series. These replacements have worked excellent. SpyPoint offers one year warranty and again I have had excellent customer service.

There's the reconyx and then everyting else. That's what I came to after trying 4 different ones.

Buy from a place you can return and try them out. I did and although it cost me to do it, I built up points and they rewarded me for spending 0.00 dollars after it was all said and done.

Been using the reconyx since last spring, 10,000+ pics, no measurable loss of battery life. Zero, zip, nada battery drain. Just amazing.

Default cuddeback not the camera if it has an issue

I would look at Moultrie over cuddeback, I have both. The difference is if you have a problem with cuddeback, there service is terrible. I had an issue with my Moultrie on the 1st camera, they upgraded me and sent a new one, understand it was less than 3 months old. My cuddeback, they took 3 days to get back to me and because I drilled two small holes in the plastic housing, they said it voided my warranty, the camera was in the woods less than 2 weeks.
I will not buy another cuddeback camera.
the problem with the cuddeback capture is that it will not write the pictures to the SD card
