I set my new M-80 out last Wednesday 10/27/11 with 8 alkaline batteries. Went to pick up card today and batteries were dead. When I got home and checked the card it only took 72 pictures, the first day, in the plotstalker mode and then had nothing on camera after that. Was set at 3:14 and lat pic was before 4:00? Could it be bad batteries? They were radio shack alkalines? I have lithium batteries for it now. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. I hadd it set in the combo mode with plot stalker and night pictures?

What kind of batteries? I've been using namebrand lithiums for the last couple years and the life of them blow away alkalines. They might cost more but are worth it.
I get 12 for $18 at Sams for the blue Energizers.

Try a new set of batteries to see if it was just bad batteries. Also you might want to try lithium batteries. We have not had any complaints on battery length from our customers who buy the m80. I will look into to it and see if any has had problems and just not said anything to us. Good luck

one bad battery can spoil the whole bunch
worst thing may be that one pictaker does not have the pickup range that the others do
