Default Battery Bar Indicator

A camera with battery bar indicator showing a low reading does not necessarily indicate a dead battery. In warmer weather the indicator is more accurate. As a test: 1)take new or fully recharged rechargeable batteries and test with a digital multimeter. Install the batteries in the camera and check the bar indicator. 2) remove the batteries and put in the refrigerator over night. This will simulate colder weather when your camera is set up outside. 3) remove the batteries from the refridgerator and test with a digital multimeter. Now install the batteries in the camera and check the bar indicator. Both the digital meter reading and bar indicator should show lower. Your batteries are not dead, they just are not putting out as much current due to being cold. Warm up the batteries to room temperature and retest. They will now show a higher reading.

My trail cams' performance gets spotty in the winter when the batteries are below 70%.
