Trail Cameras Question.

Trail Cameras Question.
I have never used one, or had one.
And I am going to try one out.
My Question, is what do you usely do, go scent free?
How do you go about setting up, useing them?
Put them on used trail, or over a bait pile?
I am NOT planning on hunting on a bait pile, I just want to see whats in the woods, and what day, and time they are showing up.
Thank You

Welcome to the addiction, I guarantee you'll end up with more than one camera. Camera speed has alot to do with how you setup your camera. If you want to monitor trails only, you will have to have a fast camera, such as a Reconyx, Cuddeback, or some of the Bushnells. If you are going over a feeder, then it really doesn't matter how fast it is. Use scent killer or any other product like that to help with scent. Go in like you're hunting, clean and scent-free as possible. Can be rough in the hot summertime but you just have to do your best. I never linger any longer than is neccessary when putting cameras out, I just swap cards and leave. If you only check them every one to two weeks, it's not as much pressure as you would put on a spot going to your stand every two or three days. I don't know what type of area you are planning on putting the camera in but all my cameras go into a security box before I leave them out. Good luck but I warn you, this is a very addictive hobby.
