Default Bushnell Trophy Cam: buy 2010 or 2009 version

I already own a BTC 2009 version and love it and want to buy another one. My question is should I buy the new 2010 version or buy the 2009 version. I have heard there were problems with the newer version with continuous pictures but heard the quality is much better in the night time pictures.

I have purchased a total of seven of the 2009 model Bushnell Trophy
Cameras since the beginning of 2010. I have been very happy with the
videos. I have them set for 30 second video, then 10 second delay. Some
times the 30 second is too long if something comes in either early and
doesn't stay or comes in late. If it is a video I plan to put on a disc, I use
Windows Movie Maker to delete the part I don't want. I am not set up over
bait as some members are.
When installing batteries, be careful to align the springs. I started using
Energizer Max, but have switched to Pure Energy Rechargeable. They come fully
charged with a shelf life of seven years. Package voltage reads 1.5 volt. Checking
with a digital meter, they read 1.65 volt. These batteries also have there own
charger. Other rechargeables read 1.2 or 1.25 volt. For cold weather I plan to use Lithium Ultimate if the Pure Energy don't like the cold.
Also the plug on the bottom does not fit very tight on a few of them. Just check
when working with the camera. If the plug is not put in properly, ants etc. could
enter. The strap has a very light buckle so care must be used when fastening. A bear
tore a camera off a tree the other day. There were no claw or bite marks on the camera. The bear had broke the buckle. This saved damage to the camera.
Bushnell recommends 2GB SanDisk SD cards. I have used Kodak, SanDisk
and Verbatim 2GB. I format them in my computer when deleting pictures or
video and again when installing in the Bushnell Camera. The reason for formatting
in the computer is, I often use the same card in Wild View Ez Cam and Spy Point
IR-B. The latter two brands cannot be formatted in the camera. Lexar 2GB cards
will not work in the Bushnell Camera.
I have not used the external power supply in the Bushnell. Animal movement
going away from the Bushnell Camera will be recorded as long as the camera can
see the animal and the video hasn't timed out. Coming toward the camera is a much shorter distance, possibly 40 to 45 feet.
I have not used the 2010 version of the Bushnell Trophy Camera. Hope this helps.

I am on my second 2010 Bushnell, the first one had the problem you described in your post. I just put it out last week so we will see what happens with this one. If it has the same problem, it is going back permanatly.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

It's a little to soon for me to give an honest opinion. I had the continuous picture taking problems with my first '10 BTC and have just placed the new one in the woods. Didn't notice any problems with this one when I tried it out around home. If I were you, I'd give it a little more time before buying a '10 model or make sure you buy from a reputable vendor.....

I have eight 2009 models and really like them alot. The only thing from the 2010 model I wish the 2009 models would have are the few extra IR's.
All of my 09's are trouble free.
I have been hearing teething issues with the 2010 model.

I purchased a 2010 model and placed it in the woods a week ago. I am going to check it at the end of the month and I will let you know if I have any problems.

I have heard that the software version makes a difference.. I heard the original problems came from the software that ended with an "a" and that the fixed ones end in "b". Well mine ended in "C" so I hope that I will have a good one.

What is the night picture like on these? I have a couple of the Wildgame Innovation IR4s and the night image is kind of iffy at times.
