Though I never paid over $70.00 for my Wildview Xtreme 5 cams or my Moultrie D-40 cams I am very pleased with both and like certain things about each model.
For example the Extreme 5 takes alot better pics has a stronger flash and sensor. But the D-40 has a better display and laser aim feature that makes it very easy to get that perfect set up and seems to be better made, for example if you would happen to drop it or have a bear etc. chew on either I think the D-40 would take a better beating. The D-40 also has a little quicker flash. Battery life is about the same though the D-40 needs 6, D batteries which is more expensive than the 4, C batteries the Xtreme 5 takes. I wont hesitate to buy a few more of either model the next time they go on sale or have rebates. Pike
