I changed my card 3 weeks ago on one of my I40's and the battery was at 90%.....checked the card this weekend and it was at 89%. The weather has been in the 10-20's for a while now and on saturday when I checked the camera it was -8 F

The BEST cold weather cam I've EVER used is the Reconyx, bar none! As I'm sure you'll find out if you're doi any research. Not only is the cam remarkable with battery life (especially when using the Lithiums), but it will function as flawlessly in brutal cold weather as it will in ANY other condition.

Example, in one Reconyx I replaced the standard C's with AA Lithiums on Oct 10, I checked the cam again yesterday (Jan 4) and it is still reading an amazing 55% batt life!!! This after the last couple weeks have broght temps below 0. I fact, the last pix it took yesterday the photo stamped temp reading says -7 below! All this considering the 10,000+ 3mp images it has taken since Oct 10.... I'm blown away!!

I figured I should go ahead an add one of the last pix I got on the cam when I checked it. This was image 2038 since I checked it about 3 weeks ago. As seen, actual temp -7, windchill at -18 andlike I mentioned, batt level is still at 55% since Oct 10.

Not the best photo by any means, just a fluffy lookin' lil' spike that was walking by at a decent pace.... he even looks cold! LOL!

ILCorn,

I have been using alkalines in my Reconyx and not getting very good battery life, yes I know they don't recommend that, but I was kinda going back and forth between using lithiums and recharchables, which they do recommend. Have you used recharchables and if you did, how do they compare with the lithiums? Also, where did you get the adapters for the lithium AAs?

Why would you need an adapter for lithiums?
They are the same size as alkaline batteries.

Because lithiums don't come in "c" size, only double A. The adapters allow you to put two double AAs together and it's the same size as a C battery
