Default What is wrong with this deers skin? Help?

I pulled some cards this weekend and I got this weird looking buck on cam. He has a normal colored body however his face is mostly black. I dont think it is mange and he is not a piebald. I am trying to figure out what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated from you guys.

I think it could be blood, or maybe an infection.

It looks to me like that is just his fall coat coming in. Yes, it seems a little bit early, but I wouldn't worry about this deer. I have seen this before. As they lose their summer coats, they will get that dark brown color as opposed to their orange summer color.

thanks for your help guys. I was wondering about an all black deer however they seem to be all black and not patches. I have the pictures out to a few wildlife doctors to see.

I dont think its blood, too much of it I think. I am thinking more towards mange or something other skin parasite.
