Approximately how much would one of those 9 footers weigh? It's going to be plenty of work getting out one of those black bears. I hope you have plenty of help? Good luck on the hunt. Hope to see some pics of the hunt and hopefully the harvest.

Some great pics NIMROD!! Those halibut sounds nice to me as well.. Great eating myfriend.. For as far as hunting bears, that's not for me. If they taste anything like the black bears here shoot all yah want of them. I saw a big black bear here the other day why traveling around on the dirt roads. I have a friend that baits bear so I will have to let him know where I saw it. I enjoy the fact that others come here top hunt the black bears here. Good luck on bagging a couple of blacks up there..

THANX GUYS,
we enjoy black bear meat ( but halibut is much better[8D]
)and even have enjoyed a couple fall North Slope berry fed grizzlies. as long as they have not been in the fish bear meat is good less fatty in Spring we have alot of sausage and "bacon " made. We not required to salvage meat after 1 June. but i normally do.if i get a bear this will be latest one for years usually 3-4 weeks earlier, season is later this year.
