Default Turkeys

While I was deer huntin in November, I was sittin just over a ridgeline when I thought I heard a deer coming from over the other side. As I watched, I finally saw the heads pop up as 15 or 20 turkeys came up over the ridge and began to pick around. They worked their way down the ridge and disappeared over the hill. 30 minutes later, I hear another racket and spotted them working their way around the hill back in my direction. As they head back up the hill, I spotted something white along with them.

Now I have seen deer and turkeys eat together, but never travel together in a group and it made me curious. So, I raised my rifle and looked through my scope for a better view. It appeared to be a white turkey, but it never really came out of the brush to give me a good look. I was almost certain as to what I had seen, but not 100% positive.
At least not till today I wasn't..... With the temps hovering around the low teens to 0 the last couple of days, the animals have been burning the feeders up. Take a look at the picture, down in the bottom around the 5 o-clock position or so.

I bet that's a tame turkey that got loose.
My dad raises tame turkeys for ConAgra and a couple have gotten away over the years..
The only thing with my dad's are that the wings are clipped and they are debeaked on day 1 so they can't fly or defend themselves so predators usually get them pretty quick.

Are there any turkey farmers in your area?

No Sir,
There are no turkey farms in this area. And no onethat I know of even has turkeys in the immediate area.
But that doesn't mean you're not right.

Not all companies clip the wings so it could be a tame turkey and be able to fly.
If that's the case then hard telling where it came from.
