Most Def the scrape. Alot of different deer will travel through there and make a sign. I also set up on salt licks.

I noticed all my scraping action was done...but they may re-open them for the 2nd rut. I have 2 on scrapes waiting for that right now.

I say food. Inside corners of crops next to tree lines. Thats where they'll sneak out to get a quick bite but yet can get back into the trees easily.

i ended up setting it up on a rub next to a scrape just because a good tree to put it on was closer to the rub, we will see how it goes.

Here I would have to try a heavely used deer trail as coyotes will keep the deer moving into different areas all the time. Plus rifle hunting has just ended today and black powder hunting will run for another week. Top all this with deer heading out for the wintering areas, it would be very hard to catch them in one place for very long..

I would say scrape. More specifically a field edge or community scrape. Not one of the rutting scrapes in the middle of the woods, but one that alot of different deer frequent. They should still be coming to those.

I'm in mn but my scrapes are dead! only pictures are of deer passing by on the trail. they are paying no attention to the scrape at all. my best camera by far right now is over a turnip plot.
