I wish I knew how to post some video. I do not know how to take the video from camcorder tape and edit it to post. Ifsomeone knows an easy way to do it let me know and Ill post some video. I have some outstanding video of a 6 point last spring bedded down beside corn pile eating corn while bedded.

You need the disk that came with the cam. It will allow you to install video editing software that can pull off video from the camera and save as an .avi or .flv (new Sony cam software allows this anyway). How are you storing data on the video camera?

The footage is recorded on the hi-8 tapes.

There is still Sony software that will allow you to connect to the camera via usb and pull off the video. It would have came with the camera.

It depends if your camcorder is USB streaming or not.

My parents have an older Sony that records to hi8 and I'm able to pull off video on the computer with it.

You would need some type of PVR (Personal Video Recorder) video card for your pc that is bundled with software that can capture the incoming feed.

Hauppauge makes some great video cards for this.

Ill try with my dvd burner and try that to see ifI can't get it to work that way. I got some great video with these units.
