Default Do photo cards go bad??

I checked my trail cam today and it said no images on index card.[:@] It had been there 2 weeks and fresh tracks all around it. [:'(]I put the card in my digital cam and it will not record a picture. Do these things go bad? I know they have a little switch that you can lock it with. But that is not the problem.

Yes. I have had them go bad. Don't know about your camera, but if you had it in another type of camera first, you might need to format it before it will work again. On the other hand, memory is so cheap now. If it doesn't work just go by a new one. You can buy a 2G card for $17.00 at Staples.

I know of people having problems with the big cards. By chance is the small card a Lexar card, if so have heard of people having problems with the Lexar cards. An any card can go bad.

I wonder if that is the problem because I have the same problem. 2nd week in a row with no pics, but there is fresh sign and the battery power is dropping. So I figured the camera was working but I hadn't given a bad sd card (Lexar)could be the problem. Well if thats the problem, I guess I owe you jmbuckhunter for bringing up this topic.

the only issues i have had with cards is not being able to view them with my digital camera. on a couple of occaisions my Moultrie 3.1 said i had pic's but when i took the card out and put it in my digital camera it said i had no pic's. i took the card home and put it in my desk top and i could view the pic's. so far i am unable to view any of my pic's on my Moultrie I40 with my digital camera, i have to view them on my desk top. i have also formatted them multiple times with no luck on the I40.
