AR Bowhunter 04-13-2008 04:42 PM

Going to let it set awhile in the dry, but I believeit is junk!

RE: Leaf River last pics!!

Give it a good long time to dry before turning it on. You might be surprised. Make one heck of a commercial for Leaf River if it did. Good luck !

Might still work. If you are a little handy... Take it apart. let it dry, you might want to put a night light next to the parts to help them dry out, puts out a little heat but no enough to ruin it. I have done this with cell phones and pagers that have gone in for a drink.

I know this sounds crazy but if it is still wet submerge it in isopropyl alcohol. I had a laptop go swimming and a geek friend of mine told me to do it. The monitor was still screwed but I could retrieve my data. Thank god.

ive seen pics like that before where the guy left it next to a creek and it took pics of the water coming up. he said he let it air out for a while and it worked just fine after that. but i think it was a 35mm and not a digital.

Most likely going to get an I-40 Moultrie an then around June get a Leaf River Digital.

RE: Leaf River last pics!!

They dont take very good underwater pics do they.:D I had a 35mm Stealth cam that I lost in a flood too. I tried letting it sit, and then took it all apart, and dried everything off real good, but it never did work after that.

I actually had a "DeerCam" back in the day and it got flooded out, but after letting it dry out in the sun it still worked fine!

That sucks but is kind of funny in a sick way,,,,sorry about your loss.

RE: Leaf River last pics!!

don't try to turn it on until you know its dry. I have heard you can pack wet electronics in rice or something and the rice takes in the moisture and can dry stuff out really well. Maybe do a search on it.
Did water run out when you opened it?

That sucks dude!!!

AR Bowhunter 04-15-2008 05:08 PM

I just stopped an studied the pics, looks as if that little buck with his nose to the ground was tryingto motivate that doe kind of late in the year just by looking at his posture an she was clearly upset about it.

My buddy had a moultrie is a spot like that but his got washed away. Atleast you still have something to work with.

RE: Leaf River last pics!!

Ouch...that blows. The problem is not just the water, but the sediment that likely worked its way into everything. Hope it works, but that would require a mighty tight seal. How did you get the pics? (meaning did you take the card out?) I am suprised the card wasnt toast.

AR Bowhunter 05-02-2008 06:59 PM

RE: Leaf River last pics!!

The card was fine, after speaking to tech at LR he said if the boards are not mudded up, they could probably fix it. I checked an the boards appear to be fine as far as appearance. He said it may have just got the switch part at the bottom of the camera. It does have a fine coating of dirt on the inside, but not much. I going to send it off about Monday or Tuesday he said he would be glad to work with it. He said he will call me an let me know how much it could costbefore he starts repairingon it. I will keep this updated to what happens, most likely about a 7-10 day turn around.
