Default Moultrie D40 is pretty good for the Price

I bought a couple of Moultrie D40s new for $80 each. They have worked well. The only complaintI have is, the time seems to get off and needs to be reset once every week or so. The battery life was good too, I have gotten thousands of shots since August on these cameras.

Is there a small battery on the inside of your Moultrie that you need to replace? My 4.1 Moultrie has an inner battery that keeps the correct time when you remove the larger battery to charge it up.

i have to agree,it is a good cam for the money !
i don't care for the D-cell setup but it does have an external power port for adding an external rechargeable battery.
you can order the cord for it from MOULTRIE.

if you want to see pics from mine,i have some posted
under "DK's yote cam" in the trail cam threads on this site.

I hope this works, I just uploaded 3 pics from the D40 I put out. I put it out on the 12th of March and today I went and checked it and it still says 40% power. It took 1850 pics, put some cattle bumped it and it twisted into the cedar tree so about 1830 pics are birds in the trees or just the wind blowing the cedar branch in front of the lense. This is the first time I have ever used a trailcam. Kind of neat.
