I bought this new program that made this graph in less than 5 seconds when I selected all the folders of trail cam photos I have. It instantly reads the dates from the photos and organizes them into moon "ages" (it also does time of day). I have just over 13,000 pictures from last season and this season. Interesting peak around the last quarter.

BTW the program is at www.outdooroutlook.com

Wow, very interesting. I made on observation earlier this year that my best BIG buck pics over the last 3 years have occured around the last quarter right before the rut. Hmmm.....
The moon phase seems to have very little on the actual timing of the rut itself, but maybe a bit to do with peak scraping from what I've seen.

The problem with that program is that you don't know what the pictures were of. My camera takes more pictures of raccoons and pigs than deer. Iguess you could segregate out only deer pictures before running it.

npaden, thats what I do, I pull out all of the "other pictures" when I am scrolling through and then analize the deer pictures. Where I take pictures, out of 100 pictures, I MIGHT have one triggered by a fox, raccoon or group of squirrels. Either way, 1/100 pictures aint' gonnaeffect much.

Well, the program automatically does that too. It creates the following graph which shows what time of day AND phase of moon the photos are taken.
