I agree it looks like an old injury of some type.

As for the pose, I think swamp rooster is probably correct. It's a little early for does to be in rut here in West Virginia. The pre-rut is just getting underway. I just found my first scrape line a few days ago and I haven't seen any chasing as of yet. Therefore as swamp rooster suggested, I think I got her in a weird stretching pose. Interesting pic nonetheless.

I don't know about that? To me it looks like she has been bred already! I bet them are scuff marks from the bucks hoofson her hind quarter whilebreeding her!
