High fenced paradise...You actually have to feed the deer even though they are fenced in? Why not just move the fence closer together....in say, a 100 yard square? Pathetic!!!

Sorry...no pathetic high fence. Look at the pictures. The country is so flat you would see the fence sticking up!!!We are 700 acres surrounded by a big ranch that only hunts birds. One side of the ranch has been showing some great genetics and we have been feeding protein to them for 4 years. I shot two culls last year that scored 125 3/8and 141 1/2 with my bow. We have only shot the culls for the last 4 years. Except for the grandkids shooting culls, we only hunt with bows so it is pretty quiet around there. We only go out there in the off season to fill the protein feeders, then leave. We estimate a two to one buck to doe ratio with our game cams. We did not create this. It is just how the area is. We do not shoot does for now. The North side of the ranch does not have as godd of deer as the South for some reason. Maybe just worse genetics I guess.

Very nice deer, feeding protein really pays off after a few years. I have been feeding for 1 1/2 years and I have yearlings that normally would be button bucks that are any where from spikes up to6 points like the one below.
For this area its not normal to see anything more than button the first year.
