My old moultries are slow now on auto flash is about 12 seconds, flash on is 10 seconds and when flash is off 5 seconds, i was wondering why I was'nt getting deer anymore and I did this test, this is by the way with fully charged rechargeble batteries, now I have taken the flash off and getting deer again but no night shots so I recently purchased the new I40 IR 4.0 camera.

Classic case of YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I've got a friends Moultrie 100 set up on my property right now because he wanted to test it. You sure can tell it's a cheapy, especially compared to the Cuddeback Experts and Cam Trakker models I'm used to running! I say spend a little more money the first time on a higher quality cam.

Yah your right a person tries to avoid the inevitable but it is pointless, hopefully my new IR40 4.0 will be better it costed more but not a much as the cuddes.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my 100 and 200's are working well with the flash off and getting pics of deer again, this is an idea for you guys that are useing some older 100 and 200's that might be getting slower, of course at night your out of luck but at least it's in the field getting daytime bucks. And I also wanted to let you know that my new i40 IR 4.0 is working great and I am realy happy with it so far.

The Moultrie 100 that I've been playing with has a slow trigger but asensorthat seemsdecent. Battery life from the 6V seems to be about 3 weeks. This past battery lasted for a few weeks and 154 photos. However,several of these pix were blank (no doubt due to the slow trigger) and I also had about a dozen pix that were washed out with a bright white look. That being said, the photos that the unit did capture seemed of good quality. For $100 you expect slow and a lot of misses but the overall image quality of the photos will make most happy, I feel.

Behind the buck that must be one your cammtrakkers i think you had mentioned, did it capture the deer at the times the 100 missed them, probably did, what is the trigger speed on them you figure and how happy with them are you.

Yep, it's a Cam Trakker. It hasn't missed a deer yet. I don't think I've got a blank/empty image from the CT, of the couple thousand images it's recorded thus far. The delay seems to only be a couple seconds, as soon as you step in front of it you can see the lens pop out as the cam wakes up,... so it's plenty fast. Of course I'd expect much better performance from a unit that costs that much more. I'm extremely happy with it and thus far they are my favorite trail cams.

However, I believe the Moultrie is a decent cam for a guy that just can't afford to spend the extra money or if you're in an area where thereis avery high risk of theft it's probably your best bet. Let's face it, I would MUCH rather loose a hundred dollar cam thanone that costs $450+! [:@]
