Game Cam Flash Scare deer??

I am looking at getting a game cam, but I have heard that the ones with the flash will scare the deer out of an area. I saw one at bass pro with no flash therm pic, but it was like 400.00. What are some of your experiences with them?

Thanks

The infrared's are nice but pricey. I haven't had any problems with the flash scaring deer from my camera

I have had cameras for several years and have sat in a stand watching deer in front of my camera, and I have never had deer react adversely to the flash. I even have a Camtrakker with the "strobe light" flash.

As the other said, I dont think the flash bothers deer in my area. Ive used cams for about 5 or 6 years now, and get lots of pics of deer standing there for long periods of time not seeming to be bothered by the flash. What I did notice was that the 35mm cams did spook them with the noise of the film advance, but not the case with digital cams

I've got a Moultrie camera set up in my backyard and watched two does get their pictures with a flash taken tonight without even flinching. This camera has worked great and was under $100's.

Another vote for the Cuddeback.. The Moultrie cams are OK too for the money but I dont think thay are as good as the Cuddeback, I own both, and both have their place.

I got a moultrie game watcher from walmart this fall and love it. about $100 plus memory card, 2 rechargable batteries and charger, came to about $150, totally paid for by winning all the buck pots opening weekend with my first buck ever, which i also got a pic of 2 days earlier, while he nibbled at the deer block for about 7 or 8 minutes w/o getting spooked by the flash. heres the pic

Save yourself the troubleDon't get a cuddeback I have one from 04 and it no longer works. All together I have 6, the 04 worked so good I got 5 more, two work others have been sent in to be fixed andyou can never get through to their CS. that was Oct. said I would have them backin three weeks. Its almost Dec. Go to chasingame.com before you get a cam.its a great review of most all the trail cams.I like the moultrie cams cause they are cheep and they work.

I picked up the Wildview Xtreme 3 at bass pro today. I just set if up near my food plot and I will let everyone know how it works. I got it for only 99.00. Not sure what the deal was, but it was cheaper than the Wildview Xtreme 2 (120.00). I had planed on getting the gmaespy 200 but they were out of stock. Just from testing it it seems to be a little slow on the trigger and you have to be kinda close to set off the PIR.

I just got my 1st game cam, it's a moultrie 100, I sat in my deerstand and watched it take 20 or 30 pics of some does feeding. They didn't even lift there heads to look at the flash. The flash does not seem to bother them at all..

I have 4 of the Wildview Extreme 2.0's and I love them. I had to tinker with the battery compartment a little, but they all work great and I have never noticed the flash scaring any of the animals away. I have, in fact, shot a bunch of animals I have taken pictures of. So they obviously did not leave the area. Here is a pic of the mature buck my father in law shot on Saturday.

Sorry, I put up the pic of the deer instead of the trailcam pic. Here it is before we hunted him.

The flash never seems to bother any of our deer. I often get several of the same deer in succession. See these pics for example. The forkhorn actually seems curious about the camera.
