My father-in-law has this trail cam and he is getting all dark pics at night time unless the animal is literally standing right infront of the camera. Is this a weakness of the camera? I have noticed a few comments about this in this thread...

For my experience so far, I think the flash range is more like 25-30 feet, because I'm getting some real pictures at that distance.
The real problem is the sensor is much better than the flash and you do get some dark snaps as a result. Still I say it's the best $120 camera I've seen.

25-30 flash range with this camera? wow, that's awesome. i have mine on one edge of a 12' food plot with logs blocking anything after 12' and i get blank pics all the time! I would guess flash range is closer to 8-10 with mine. completely crappy! you need to put this camera on a trail where you know where the deer is going to be.
