Default Buck With Patched Round Ball

During muzzleloader season friends wanted a deer for meat. Went and sat in a tree stand overlooking a game trail and a creek crossing. A young buck came along. i fired and the buck went down, paralyzed and still breathing. Climbed down and killed him.

Distance: About 30 yards.

Rifle: .50 TC New Englander.
Powder: 90 grains of Grafs black powder.
Bullet: Patched round ball.
Patch lube: Frontiers.
Cap: Remington #11

well congrats
cool set up on the truck hanging rig too!

ever thought about making it stick out farther so tailgate could be down and then have it so you can wing deer into bed of truck too?
I know these tailgates on modern 3/4-1 ton trucks are getting pretty darn HIGH to be loading a deer solo!,
and that would sure make life easier!

good job. Nice fat good eating buck there.
I got one of those things for my truck/ATV. Makes loading a deer easy. But it itself is pretty heavy.

It works well with the tailgate down. Makes loading very easy too.
