Default shot in the rain today

we had a mountain man shoot today and tomorrow, today it was raining and in the 80s no wind ..i took a 54 cal new englander into the woods we shoot at steel targets, i hit 80 percent of the targets and had no miss fires....thanks to you guys and this fourm I'm sure .....it felt good to have the gun shooting in the nasty weather..my gun's a cap gun......, one cap gun we took all apart the nipple and the cleaning screw in the drum but couldn't get it going.....another cap gun we had to take out the ball redo everything and got it working but 2 shots later we had to remove another ball....the flintlocks that were there ,were miss firing but they got them to shoot after a few tries.....hope it drys up for tomorrow but if not its good pratice keeping everything dry. over the years of reading you guys post I've got a better understanding of what i need to have with me and what to do....i'd like to thank you guys .....ed

Are the shoots in RI?
I'm curious because I'm in CT,
Are they open to the public or non-members?
Any info, would be appreciated.

Thanks Striper,
It's a possibility.
I saw the events calendar.
Do they allow guns with adjustable sights or only fixed sights?
I'll keep an eye toward the future.

yes they do use adjustable sights....they have a modern hunter contest thats the one i shoot in , I don't have the outfit of the 1800s and i have fiber-optics on my new englander....the guys that dress up have both fixed sights and adjustable ones (no fiber-optics) I hit 11 targets out of 16 or 18 sunday with no miss fires I did have trouble getting powder out of my powder horn at first sunday lol I've shot my renagade 56 smooth bore, a 50 rifled renagade,54 hawkens, new englander 54 ......i ended up winning the modern hunter div sun with 11 hits....there was a new guy shooting sunday and everyone let him shoot there guns he was happy he got to shoot some really nice custon guns 62 cal and 58 cal flintlocks.
