Default What a deal

The muzzleloading gods must have been smiling on me. If you remember I ordered a Pedersoli flintlock about a month ago and Cabelas shipped a percussion lock by mistake so I returned it no problem.
Well I just won one in an auction from a private collection for far less than half what a new one costs. The pictures show it in perfect condition. Only thing is that it's a .50 and I really wanted a .54. But what the heck - a .50 is plenty for deer. And besides, I have Bobby Hoyt making me a .54 flintlock barrel for my Hawken.

Its nice to know that people actually win something. And that is a great something. I never had that kind of luck but I am sure glad you did.

Uhhh guys, by "winning" he meant he got the top bid in an auction not "winning" it outright. LOL

Yeah- it still cost me some $$. But nowhere near what a new one from Cabelas would have cost me.

Good deal Bronko!

I agree, Hoyt makes things so much easier that you can buy what ever and still have caliber options available.

Any muzzy shotguns yet?

Well I already called Pedersoli to see how much a .54 barrel would be and they said $275. I can get Mr. Hoyt to rebore the .50 for less than that.
As for a muzzy shotgun - not yet. I almost got a .56 smoothbore but I hear that its too hard to find wads for it.
