I know these type of posts show up all the time, but I've narrowed it down to either a new Crusader or a Selway Lil Magnum.
Of course in order to buy another longbow my almost brand new Hunter II will have to go (sorry Chad, just found I really like shooting my Crusader a lot more). It will be up on the classified section tomorrow.
So after much research it's down to the two listed above . . . . any and all opinions are welcome.
Thanks,
Dave

Shoot, I can't fuss--I like my Crusader a lot more than the Hunter II! I don't remember if I've shot the Selway, but have heard good reviews. Other than that, I couldn't say.

I started out shooting a hunter II recurve and now I shoot a selway lil magnum longbow. I was at a trad\show last year and Gordy talked me into shooting one of his selways and he just happened to have a lefty there for me to shoot. From the first arrow that flew from that bow I was hooked, I shot 3 arrows and 3 bulls eyes, no hand shock, this bow really lives up to its name "LiL Magnum". I never thought I would go to a longbow but now I am hooked, really hooked on this bow, I treasure it everytime its in my hands, its an awsome bow.

I have a crusader now and have owned a few hunter II's and the selway little mag. The Selway just didn't feel good to me at all. Traded it back in without shooting maybe 50 arrows. The craftsmanship is great from both bowyers just the selway didn't feel good to ME. If possible try one before you decide you might like the selway better.

Troy, just curious as where you purchased your selway?, did you custom order it or was it used? what did'nt you like about your Lil Magnum? The bow I demo'd just happen to fit me perfect and I bought it on the spot at the Trad'show and my friend had one custom built for him after shooting some demo's. Gordy took a drawing of his hand, so it would fit the grip of the bow. We shoot together all the time and still are greatly impressed with the selway lil magnum bows. The lil magnum is a reflex'deflex design and I am so impressed when shooting this bow as there is no hand shock, and impressive arrow speed. I elk hunt with this bow and shoot alot of 3-D shoots as well, I had many a people come up to me, to look this bow over, as they were so impressed watching arrows fly from this bow. Not sure what a crusader bow is, but you do have me a bit curious, so if i see one and its left handed, i will have to demo one, never know, but for now i am very satisfied with my selway lil magnum.
I mentioned my bow has impressive arrow speed--before someone rings in about this, its what i like and gives me that extra confident booster when elk hunting...I know you don't need speed for kill, but if it has it, suits me just fine!!!!

RH I had the selway biult for me but I did order it through G&M. It just didn't fit me well I think. The grip seemed small and it just didn't feel right. Gordy's craftsmanship is right up there fit and finish was fine and yep they have plenty of speed. You just never know till you try one on different bows. I have had some high end bows i thought were junk and some cheapies that were great. The crusader is a chek mate bow. I like the longhorn from chek mate even better than the crusader. I have a new crusader and longhorn both on order with Chad right now. HINT HINT Chad am I on the short list yet? RH if you want to see some pics of the chek mate line try

LOL well RobinHood I guess you can see there is a small line for the chek mates. Rich I think my Longhorn is probably about a month out and the crusader is a little further than that but only Chad and Marc know for sure. But hey I got the kota badlands I had on order and have a hill wesley special 64" 80@28 on order that should be done in about a month. At least I am sharing the love with other bowyers LOL

I see that the chek-mates are a popular bow, they are nice looking bows!! You remind me so much of my brother, he has so many top of the line bows, and when he comes over to shoot with me he usually brings about 4-5 recurves---I am JEALOUS--LOL
