i went hunting in the alaska range, about 80 miles from my house
rode nine miles in on a four wheeler, then packed a couple miles in to base camp
beautiful country
alpine lakes
beautiful valleys
and awesome mountains
seen 6 or 7 sheep
got to within about 150 yards of a pair, both rams, neither legal
the guy i was hunting with wasnt up to making the trip up the hill, and i opted to go get his pack for him as he went back to camp
i climbed up about a mile, brabbed his pack and mine, and my bow, and started picking my way down the mountain.
looked back up, and seen a ram, sitting right where we were spotting earlier, probably 75 yards away, about a 46 to 48 inch ram.
it was time for me to decide, sheep, or camp.
i knew that i could get within range, and most likely get a shot off, but i would probably be stuck in the hills overnight.
it was 8 o'clock, pm, and i was just over 2 miles from camp, with two packs
i decided it was going to be a good trip, sheep or not and decided to go back to camp.

LOL Isn't that the truth! Caught "the fever" about 15 years ago, still hasn't gone away. At least you, me & Lil (and probably a few others here) live in places where we can hunt 'em without having to sell the first born to finance a hunt.

Aint figured out what part of the brain they be taking this coming fall, just hope it has nothing to do with motor skills or seeing, they can have the rest
