heck for that matter, get some river cane, and shove a dowel in to the length you want.

The cane will shoot great in its own right. Straighten it out with some steam, and then some heat so its half way decent. Cut your nock in near a node, dig the pith out of the point end a bit, cut a few scores on top of the cane so when you bind it down it will close around the foreshaft, then stick a foreshaft of whatever inside. If ya dont feel safe with it, epoxy the foreshaft in.

I am not sure where you can buy them anymore, they were martha stewart bamboo stakes, came in 4 or 5 foot sections.

thanks for all the suggestions guyz i will be sure to try the dowels and if i can that river can idea but now all i need to figure out is a light enough cloth to tye on the end anda light enough liquid to produce fire (maybe a type of rubbing alcohol)

if you got any more suggestions im open to them
