went to a shoot this weekend on Saturday. Will keep going to this range for Sat shoots.
WHY are 3-Ds generally held on Sunday, any of you know a significant reason.
I enjoy shooting my bow with friends BUT on Sunday I had rather spend my time with GOD and Family.
Could this be a cause for the lack of numbers in 3-D? What do you guys think would you rather shoot SAT or SUN. Would you attend more regularly SAT or SUN shoots?

A lot of ppl have to work Saturdays. I do wish that clubs here would reset their Sunday sign up deadlines to 3:00pm (instead of 2:00) tho. I bet that would boost attendance too.

I'd like to shoot the events on Saturdays soley because of personal preference, but from the above posts I can certainly understand why they would be held on Sunday. What gripes me is the high cost of 3D events in my area. I don't think any of them are under $20. That's for a plain old club shoot, not a special event of any kind, those are higher. I'm not a contender for prizes, I just like to shoot arrows. It kinda gripes me to pay for the privelage of subsidizing some other guy's trophy.
Yes, I know I'm also paying for wear and tear on the targets, insurance, club operating costs, etc. But I don't go to many shoots because it just costs too dang much.

Grey, most regular club shoots here are $10 entry per shooter. I'd hate to have to pay $20, but (all things considered) it'd still be fairly reasonable for 2-3 hours or more of entertainment IMO.

Most people are working or doing things around the house on Saturday's. We get a better turnout on Sunday.
Our cost (it is a local proshop not a club) is $10. Includes 30 targets. About everyother shoot the shop puts on a barbeque with deer burgers and deer sausage, soft drinks and beer. It is included in the $10 fee. Only trick is you do not know which shoots will have the food and drink.
Prizes at the end of the season vary. Last year he had a PSE bow for 1st place in the open compound division. Miscellaneous stuff for the other categories.
Never been to any other, so I don't know how to compare. Other shooters say the course is good, but the competition is not up to the bigger 3-D shoots. Normally 25 to 30 people show up. Owner says he dosen't even break even but it is good for business so he will keep it up.

MOST CLUBS HERE IN THE NORTH COUNTRY HAVE THE SHOOTS ON SAT. BUT ONE ALTERNATES ( OR USED TO , HAVE NOT SHOT ONE IN A WHILE) USUALLY $ 10 IF A MEMBER AND 12 IF NOT. KIDS GENERALLY ARE FREE. I HOPE TO GET TWO SHOOTS IN THIS NEXT 2 WEEKS OFF WHILE I'M AT HOME. HOPEFULLY THE WEATHER WILL STAY ABOVE ZERO.
