Cocobolo is a nice wood-goes well with alot of other woods.I'm having a recurve built that has a cocobolo riser footed with myrtle and myrtle veneers on the limbs.Should look sweet and should be done around May or June.

Cocobolo, bocote, or birdseye bocote in a riser. Fanciest and prettiest limb veneer I've seen to date is waterfall figure bubinga--dang near hurts your eyes to look at it.

Give me bocote.

They're all pretty. I like snakewood, exotic rosewoods of any kind is gorgeous.

I swear if I ever have the money I'll have a riser made from Pink Ebony !!

Maccassar ebony. Heavy and nice looking. Maybe an osage or maple accent stripe.

Cocobolo, Bocote, and Macassar Ebony.
My next bow will have African Blackwood for the riser.
It's stronger and heavier than most others.
It runs jet black to brown in color.
Here is a drum made of African Blackwood.

Sag, Thanx for posting the pic., that African black wood is very impressive wood to look at and will make a real beauty of a riser for sure...
