need good strings

There are some custom string makers available through the internet. One of our past mods and member LBR was one but I can't remember his business name but he was out of Mississippi I think.

Make your own. Its is real easy. Look up Flemish Twist. The jig is easy to make and the strings are easy to make. And Dacron is pretty cheap. I would not suggest going with anything faster.

go on EBAY and look for Stilldub, he's a local guy that I've shot with many times. He makes lots of Flemish twist strings both Dacron and Fastflight. Reasonably priced and very fast shipping. He'll make about any color combination you want.

It's getting harder to find traditional bowstring makers locally. Your best bet is to order custom strings online from a specialty shop that caters to traditional archery.
Companies like 3Rivers Archery or Lancaster Archery are great resources. You'll need to know the exact bow length (which you do) and the brace height to get the right string length. They make high-quality Flemish twist and endless loop strings that will be perfect for your classic Bears.
These shops understand traditional gear and will be able to help you get the right strings for your great old bows.
