I am having a hard time trying to decide what new broadheads to buy. My last few have been sharpened to death and I lost one more in a tree so I am now down to three... time to update the inventory!
So here is my question, have you had any experience with these broadheads and if so or not so, which would you buy if you were purchasing?
1. Grizzly, Two Blade, 100gr.
2. Magnus, Two Blade, 125gr,
3. Magnus Snuffer, Three Blade, 125gr.
I am not really sure between the two or three blade and of the two blade I am torn between the Grizzly and Magnus. I know both are proven brands. How does the slightly chiseled point of the Grizzly compare to Magnus' s almost stilleto tip?
By the way, since I use aluminum arrows, I will have to buy screw in adapters (short ones weigh 24gr.) which will get the Grizzly weight up to 125gr. The Magnus come factory installed with adapters. Also my old broadheads were Magnus two blades that have been sharpened enough to go from 125gr to 100gr
.
I just want a few peoples opinions on what you would get.
Thanks
Josh

I use ACE 2 blades. I use the 24 grain adapter. I' m using the 125, 165, 175 and 200 grain heads on diffrent bow/arrow setups. Fly great, easy to sharpen and tough. Don' t think you can go wrong with any of your choices.

I' ve never shot a Grizzly head, so I can' t give you any advice there. Dr. Ashby says they' re top dog though, for toughness and penetration.
Snuffers... I' m not too hot on them. I like a scalpel sharp polished edge and the website says they need a filed burr edge, so that' s where I part company with them. I also had to heat the heads and reposition the adaptors because the ones I got didn' t spin true, straight out of the package.
I' ve used Magnus I 2-blades for a long time and really like them.

I hear them snuffers produce a nice, big hole and are real blood letters. Being a two blade fan, I' d probably go with the Magnus head. The chisel bladed Griz is one tough head though and is definitely worthy of consideration. Actually, you probably couldn' t go wrong with any of them.
About the screw in adapters, have you thought about trying the glue on adapters? I use them with my 2016s and like them a lot. They glue into the shaft just like the screw in inserts, but the broadhead glues onto the taper just like with a wood arrow. It leaves a clean looking and strong connection between broadhead and shaft. Anyways, food for thought.

Snuffer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Easy to sharpen and Art they don' t need no burr! I hone mine on a lether strop and polish themreal good. Use the IBEP rubber band test and they pop the RB within a 1/2" travel. SNUFFERS,SNUFFERS, SNUFFERS. 145/160 grains woks wonders!

Of those choices, I' d take the Grizzlys. But thruth be known, neither of them would be my first choice.
BTW, you can get glue-on adapters that will replace RPS' and screw-ins. Kustom King Archery sells them for common XX75 arrow sizes. The larger distributors, like Lancaster Archery, sell them for any size arrow.

CajunBowhunter, I had a few of the Wensel Woodsmans before I switched to aluminum and liked them alot, but they weigh 125gr. without any adapters so with an adapter they would be to heavy for my spine or liking. Thanks for the suggestion though
Everyone else, I heartily appreciate you two cents worth[:-]. I will probably end up buying the Grizzly' s since I remember trying a few of the Magnus I' s and had the tips curle a few times. I think I will give the chisel edge a try. After all, its not a major purchase and if I don' t like them, I can just buy something else
.
Thanks guys,
Josh
