Default Rust Stopper?

What do you all use on your sharpened broadheads to keep the surface rust from forming on the polished edges? I was thinking vegetable oil or something along those lines, but wanted to hear what everyone else uses. It really stinks having to resharpen razor sharp heads because of rust.

Kip, I use a " teflon" based spray on my snuffer broadheads and underarms (for scent control).

A litle bit of vaseline. Have to reapply from time to time if you' re pulling arrows out of a foam filled broadhead hood. Stuff works fine for me, and we do get some serious rain here on the ' wet' coast.

I' ve always used vaseline. For long term storage, I smear the whole head with vaseline and wrap them individually in saran wrap. They' ll keep sharp a long time like that.

Hey, thanks everybody, all good ideas. Looks like vasaline is the winner so far, but WD-40 is in my truck right now. I' ll give it a whirl and see what happens. Thanks.

Chris, I am trying my darnedest to get my first " stick deer" . Im shooting good, just havent had any takers to be the " first" . With any luck I' ll stick one soon.

Brian and Webster are doing good. Brian is trying to get his first bear out of my bear stand. So far he has seen 13 bears, but no shots. I sat with him one night and seen 5 bears, but they just wont give the perfect shot.

Webster MAY be going to Alaska, he' s waiting to hear on a job. He is bearless so far as well, only seeing sows and cubs.

Oh, I bought a Chekmate Crusader from Chado. 62" er, 55#@28" . Brian is on the edge, and ready to take the plunge, Chad needs to keep working him over. He' ll be wheelless soon, I have faith in him.
