Default help

My friend shoots a bear grizzly like I shoot. After 6 arrows, at the very front of the riser, where the arrow leaves the bow, there is either paint from the arrow or color from the feather, we can't tell which one. My queation is does anyone else have the same thing happen.

Have not seen a grizz since early 80s,nice bow. Arrows hitting riser,is rest or plunger proper offset?.
Putting baby powder on fleching before a shot should show contact point(s).
Don,t know what rest is on bow and am assuming knockset location works for paper testing.
Not an insult but how is arrow spine? A test with heavier spine could make a difference.
Good luck.

arrow spline is fine and it makes no difference if he shoots off the shelf or a flipper rest. I will have him try the baby powder.

could this be caused by too deep of the fingers being set in the string. By the way we shoot the same arrow, length, spline and weight and I don't have the problem.

Too ,for finger shooting, center shot for right hander around 1/8 inch to left. At tip of arrow viewed from string from rear.

that is pretty much where we have it, just a small round piece of felt by the flipper.

Bought an hoyt compound instead of that grizzly. Recurve was much smoother.
I get marks on fletching still, bow should be set. Suspect with the jump of this old compound i grip riser sometimes and torque the bow. I have dropped it (launched it a better description)trying to hold it loosely. A bad release with fingers too blow a shot on occasion. Won,t give up on fingers, hard to leave at home or drop.
Has your friend tried both a shooting glove and a tab? First crease in fingers where i contact string. Lowest finger just getting a bind at anchor point. any shorter bow length a release would be needed.
Need a relaxed release with fingers drifting straight back along side of my head to group for me,
Nose touching string at full draw.

the whole thing has really got me. he has tried both glove and tab , same results. I shot bare bow for a long time and recurve. I don't have the problem because when I get to full draw, ( I hold my draw for 3 to 5 seconds ) I roll my hand and fingers down. I have only ONE finger on the string when I release it. That is the third finger, then I come back and touch my shoulder blade with my hand. Very clean release. This makes it hard for me to understand why he is having the problem.

Ps get and use a finger sling. Never, NEVER grab your bow let it go over by itself.
