I have several recurves and I'm just aching to buy a good longbow. Bear has a couple that I'm checking out, but I just keep hearing about black widows. Yes they are pricey, but some things are just worth it. Does anyone feel like the widow is worth it? General shooting, target, stump shooting etc is my intended use.

You didn't say if any of your recurves are BWs. But then if any are you wouldn't have had to ask the question you did.
Personally I don't own a LB of any make I prefer the recurve. Yes, IMO stemming from the fact that I find my BW PMA worth the price I paid for it I would venture to say that a BW longbow would also be worth the price asked. Just my opinion judging from what I have learned shooting my bow. But you know what they say of opinions---

That's a question only you can answer, because the question is: is it worth it to you?
The early longbows were lacking IMO, but they have been greatly improved. Great folks to deal with, quality product. I don't own one right now, but I have shot a few of them and have owned BW recurves in the past.

I always thought BW bows were great bows... I always wanted one since I seen Allen Altizer kill deer in Whitetails Eye To Eye back in the early 90's... Anyhow I decided to make the switch to traditional archery and I knew the BW was the bow I wanted.. I bought one after do there test ride deal and I love mine!!!
I,ve noticed a lot BW haters on this forum... I don't understand it... The only thing I can come up with is everybody wants one but can't afford them.
Dude if you want one and money's not a prob... Then get one because I doubt you,ll be disappointed!!! And there customer service was awesome to me they helped me with everything from draw weight to arrow selection...
