Default First Year Recurve Bowhunting, Need some advice

I bought a Sage Recurve last year with 40# limbs. I got pretty good with it so I want to take it out this September to see if I can score a doe with it from the ground. My shot should be around 12yd. Two things, I was thinking about buying 50# limbs for it now that I know the basics, what do you think, at 12 yd should that matter or should I stick with 40#? I need broadhead ideas too for both 40 and 50#. I know cut on contact is recommended but what is everyones favorite, including grain weight? I currently shoot 2018 but was thinking of 2117 for more penetration? Any advice on arrow size/weight? I have 29" draw. Any information would be most helpful! Thanks a ton everyone!
