Well hopefully my new Chekmate will be here this week (Hint Hint Chad) I am getting it with a couple Dyna 97 strings that Chad makes - Just wondering if my current sticks spine 60-65lb will work with this bow - The bow is a Hunter I - 63# @ 27 - I am currently shooting a b50 string on my 65# bear TD with no problems - I have read I will need to go up in spine 15lb for the duna string - Can anyone comment on this?
Thanks
Mike

It' s likely you' ll need to bump up spine a bit, but how much is going to take some experimenting on your part. A lot depends on how clean your release is and how close to center the sight window is cut in the Checkmate.
Try to borrow some trial arrows from some of your shootin' buddies. Good luck and enjoy that new bow!

I' m going to assume your arrows are 28" BOP, with a 125 grain tip. I believe you' ll find you need a spine of around 80 lb. So many variables affect spine selection, it' s difficult to make a guess without knowing all the details of your set-up. But yes, a non-stretch string does require a stiffer arrow. I have been doing some testing lately, and discovered an endless loop string (as opposed to a Flemish twist) also requires a stiffer arrow. Enjoy your new bow!
