First of all, let me say Im not trying to sell this bow. I just want to get an idea from some veteran Bear bow collectors on what this bow may be worth. I would appreciate any comments in regards to this bows value. Description: Black Bear recurve, Left handed, made in Grayling, Mich., Glass powered, 60" long, 45# @ 28". Black glass on inside and outside of limbs. The riser wood appers to be a blonde maple. Has the old fatory stabilizer insert in it. Excellent condition too! Even has a new LBR custom bowstring on it, but dont let that lower the value of it....LOL...Just jerking you chain chad!. You know I only carry your strings bro! Thanks for the help gents!.....Jaw
PS....Any idea what year this bow was made guys?

Jawbone,
I don't know anything about Bear bows, but I would venture to guess that when you first got it, it was worth $400-$500. Now that it has an LBR string on it, maybe $0.75! [
}
Bill
P.S. I devalued my bow, too, by putting a Champion bowstring on it!

JAW,
ROFL, ROFL, FORL....I can;t afford this. When the tears flow from laughing so hard I can't see. Also, I just started a new job yesterday and I'm not supposed to be having this much fun!
I think it is great that Chad has a sense of humor and the humility to deal with some of the heat thrown his way, even when it is tongue in cheek. You did have your tongue in your cheek, didn't you?

Chad, I'm using the strings that you sent me with my new bow but they keep falling off of the bow when I draw! I strung it just like you showed me in that picture! (Snicker...Snicker!) What's wrong with the string?Dick

From what I can find, the Black Bear was made from 1972-1978, which makes it pre Gainsville (a labor strike at the Grayling plant in 1978 caused the move to Gainesville). Dont't know an exact value, but would guess about $125.00-$150.00, or so. You might watch e-bay to get an idea of the value. This link may help you find more info. Hope this helps.
