What arrow length?

Hello, I have a 26" draw what should my arrow length be?

LBR 03-04-2012 07:01 PM

I like a minimum of 1" extra for broadhead clearance. Beyond that, there's really no wrong answer that I know of as long as the arrows are matched to your bow. Some leave extra length for added weight, tuning options, etc.

I have a 30" draw length and I prefer 1 1/2" of clearance between the back end of a very sharp broadhead and the knuckles of my hand holding the bow since I shoot off the shelf. This is why I prefer to shoot 32" BOP (back of point) arrows.

Easy way to measure Draw Length

Draw your bow to full draw with an arrow nocked. Have someone safely standing to your side mark the arrow shaft at the arrow shelf. This personally specific and will give you enough clearance for your broadheads. If you want to know more about arrow length their is a good article at BestBowhuntingSupplies.com

I shoot arrows that are 30" from Bop (back of point to Ton throat of nock) a 1" clearence should be enough but as stated above some prefer a longer margin of safty.
