Default So there I was.

Sitting in the shop this afternoon looking at this chunk of firewood.

I know it's not much to look at.

Thinking to myself that just maybe under that rough ugly surface there might be something hidden thats in total contrast to what I am looking at.

So what do I have to loose apart from a log for the fire when and if it gets cold.

I walk into the house get another cup of Java and go back to the shop.

Got to thinking again ( a very dangerous thing for me to do)

Before I know it in some little day dream the dust collector is whiring away the band saw is singing and dust is in the air.

When I awake from my day dream that ugly log is nowhere to be seen WTF I think to myself it was there just a minute ago.

I take a sip of the coffee oh yuck it's cold and I hate cold coffee.

Go back in the house and pop the coffee into the microwave and nuke it.

Back out to the shop take a sip ahhhhhh thats better nice and hot coffee.

So what happened to that log I asked myself.

Can't see it anywhere ok so I look out side there is the other 1/2 of the log.

Go to get my coffee off the work bench and there it is, ok I say to myself how did that get there when it was on the table saw and WTF happened to it.

So I take it outside place it on one of my portable work benches go inside and get the camera.

How this happened I can only guess or just maybe my little day dream came true.

Maybe I should day dream more often.

I know one thing Russ, before I go and TRY to cut some more I'll have to get a new blade for my saw. I tried cutting some you gave me and after I saw the smoke, I decided it's time for a new blade. I'll have to hit Loews tomorrow, Home Depot doesn't carry the size blades I need for my band saw.

Well I cut the shelf and sight window last night only to find a big rot hole in the sight window

But all is not lost I put the riser block into the heat box for an hour or so after I cleaned out the hole.

Then mixed up some epoxy got the block from the heat box, now with the block still warm I poured the epoxy into the hole, it took me 2 goes to completely fill the hole as some of the epoxy soaked into the wood adding strenght.

Here is the end result, take into mind that it has only been sanded with 80 grit paper.
