Big Jake,
Go to www.recurves.com and order a string from Chad Weaver. You' ll probably want to wait until you get the bow to see if it has reinforcements on the limb tips so you can shoot Fast Flight, If so, he will sell you a string made out of Dynaflight 97, otherwise, he' ll make it out of Dacron B-50.

Root was out of business way before fastflight string was developed, so it won' t be reinforced enough to use it. I wouldn' t even consider using anything but B50 or B500 on that bow.
I always wanted a Root bow and never have gotten my hands on one. Congrats on your new friend!

Root Warrior was a good bow. Pretty much a longer version of the Brush-Master. And yes, Arthur' s correct: You' ve got to use Dacron on the bow...no Fast-Flight or equivilent.
One things for sure about that bow...it' s going to spoil you for smooth-drawing. I' ve shot a lot of high-$$ custom recurves that don' t draw as smooth as Ernie Root' s old recurves.
