RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?
Arrowsmit,ya know everyone likes their Crusaders and last week I traveled down to see a friend who had a new 50# Crusader-I wanted to shoot it.It was a beautiful bow and performed very well but I just can't get used to the handle it just won't do it for me.Tonight I went out and shot for about an hour and fortyfive min.(17 deg. but not too bad as there was no wind)I was shooting my recurve and my shooting started to go south so I picked up my Groves 66" long bow and started to shoot,ya it stacks a little and is 57#@28" and I draw 29" but man can I out shoot my recurves with it.I love my recurves but facts are facts and I'm a hunter. So I start thinking how to combine the beauty of my recurves with a handle I am comfortable with and bla bla bla. Will bob work with me on the handle do you think,I'd love a 62"----I know I'm rambling-we will need a full report when you get it--no I don't hate you couldn't be happier for ya! Cam I had one question that I for got how center- shot is the dakota with the recurve handle?Do you know how wide the arrow rest is?I know that's two questions, couldn't help it.

RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?
Cam, you can get any style riser you want made, w/shelf cut-out made to order too. Anywhere from a more traditional style longbow riser w/shelf cut 1/8" from center to a recurve style fully centershot (3/16" past). The grips are custom too, varying from nearly strait to hi-wrist. If you have a particular grip you like, send it to him to be duplicated. Mr. Morrison is a class act & VERY easy to work with. He seems to honestly have the customers satisfaction at heart & made an offer when I first talked to him that sold me. He said if he made me a bow & I didn't like it I could send it back to him for a FULL refund!! I've never heard that before, & I ordered one then & there. Talk about a guy standing behind his product! Have you seen his site? It explains everything alot better than I can, & has some awful purty pictures there to boot. I'm including the address here, but gotta warn ya. I visited there several mos ago "just to look". LOL! I hope I helped some, & I'm pretty sure y'all will be hearing more about this bow!

hey Vic, why is he going to a 62 and/or a 64"er? You seem to bring that up everytime you give the specs on that purdy thing!

RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?
LOL Cam, I hear ya! Looks like you may have to "ease" her into it. Hehe.
Dan, I'm not sure why he's going longer w/this design, esp given that his "Classic" is already offered in longer lengths. Sorry if I've been redundant, but I guess it's bound to happen when a guy spouts off as much as I tend too sometimes! |
RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?
uppp....2114's canceled
Just bought 2 dozen Gordon #9 fiberglass shafts. Now I need to dip, fletch and shoot them. Might even try to stain them. And to think I passed on 2018's cause they were too heavy and I went and got a arrow as heavy as a 2020. Where is the logic behind that? |

RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?
DEBob, I'd try 1816 with either 100gr or 125gr points at your 28.5" length. They worked great for me in a 45# Darton Ranger Recurve. 1816 spine at #44 and from the looks of your other arrows, you shoot arrows spined pretty close to your bow weight in your recurves.
