Backwoods,

They fly great or I'd have to switch to something else With a good release I'll get a near perfect tear on paper with field points and really good flight with the zwickeys as well.

RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?

Thanks Tuffcity. The reason I asked was that a buddy of mine (a compound shooter) thought I was crazy when I ordered those shafts. He said that they would be spined too light for my bow. They were right on the money according to the Beman shaft selector so I figured it couldn't hurt to try them. I am a little concerned about the weight though. According to Beman the bare shaft weighs 225 grains. Add a 125 point and you're only up to 350. I know the fletching and inserts add some more, but I figure at best they would weigh around 400. I may end up having to add some weight.

I pretty much shoot 2018's 30.5" with 5 1/2" truflight shields--all yellow,or 2 bared gray hens and a solid white cock feather.I use the same arrows for all 3 of my bows 57# Groves longbow,66"-52# Check hunter II,60"-55# Great planes bamboo TD recurve,62".(All weights are at 28" but I draw 29")My 2018's with a wensel woodsman and long adapter weigh in at 587 grams.I would really loke to get into wood shafts again-just need the time and equipment, something to look forward to!Any one ever shoot a Morrison Dakota?(I know I got the fever) Cam

Backwoods,

The 400's seem to recover so fast from the 'paradox' effect that I think that even if you are slightly underspined it's not really a big issue. I'll try to remember to weigh mine tonight and will let you know what a finished arrow comes out as.

Cam I got the fever for a Morrison Dakota about a year ago, but kept shrugging it off. I finally broke awhile back & ordered one. It should be here in a few weeks, & I'll be happy to give my complete findings after it gets here. Bowhunter4life already is shooting one & has nothing but good things to say, but then everyone I know of thats shot one was very impressed! Mine will lokk alot like this:
LOL, you guys are gonna get tired of seeing this pic! Man I'm pumped!!

I shoot two weight bows. 55# June through December. 45# January Through May. My specs are as follows:

55# Damon-Howatt Mamba Recurve & 55# Damon- Howatt Hunter Recurve.(Need two for deer season in case one breaks!)62" Hunter shoots the sweetest!

29-1/2" 2215,XX75, 3-fletch 5" Parabolic Helical Feathers. 160 Grain Field Points, 165 Grain Zwickey 2 Blade Broadheads with standard inserts. (540 to 545 Grains)

45# Damon-Howatt Mamba Recurve

29-1/2" 1916 GGII, 3-Fletch 5" parabolic Helical feathers. 100 grain field points, 100 grain Magnus two blade broadheads with standard inserts (440 grains)(This is my Turkey Hunting Rig. No Pass Through!)

Arrows fly great on all setups. 45# bow is alot more fun to shoot!

Arrowsmit--really wish that you hadn't posted that pic. I just can't afford it!I seem to shoot my 66" long bow (with a small recurvre handle alot better than eather of my two recurves and it's just got me thinking. Does that dakota come in 60"-I wonder how unforgiving they are to shoot? I'm happy for you and I've heard nothing but real good stuff about Bob and his bows. RE: Poll - What arrows are you using?

Cam, you're gonna hate me even more...mine will be a 60"er, 60# @ 30"...but Morrison told me that he was seriously considering making a 62 & maybe even a 64" Dakota. He says that he has made em @60" for draws up to 34" tho. (I never saw anybody w/arms like THAT!!) I understand they are very fast, stable & forgiving bows. As I say, I'll be sure & post my findings soon. (I hope so much y'all get tired of it! LOL!)
